More than 700 units planned for northeastern Franklin County housing complex

The Columbus City Council has cleared the path for a large new residential development about a 1 1/2 miles east of Hoover Dam on the Far Northeast Side.

$150 Million Dollar Project in Your Next to Your Neighborhood?

The project, being developed by Joe Ciminello, would build up to 765 residential units on 153.7 acres of farmland and woods, setting aside 10 acres for a potential new school and 32 acres of open space, according to city zoning documents.

The project will break ground next year, and could take seven to nine years to complete.

"I think it will be predominantly empty-nesters,” Ciminello said. “The other strong demographic is millennial first-time home buyers. Up in that area, some of the larger builders are having good success. Homes in the $300,000 neighborhood seem to be a very strong demand,” particularly with young families.
